FOUNDER’S VISION

It was in the year 2004 that in the eternal plan and project of God , Fr. Joseph Oravanamthadathil, alias Pater Joy, a member of the Society of the Missionaries of Compassion, happened to visit Chathamangalam, a village 20 km away from the historical city of Calicut with the intention of starting an English Medium School. Originally started as a Kindergarten in rented houses, the School was eventually shifted to a beautiful location, at Joy Nagar, near Vellannur. The foundation stone for the present building of the Sacred Heart National School, was first laid by me on the 19^th of March 2012. The School is now heralding as one of the most attractive and renowned CBSE Schools in North Kerala.

I strongly believe that “ Education is future”. The specific purpose of this school is to impart value based high quality education especially for the financially and socially less privileged children in Vellannur, Chathamangalam, Choolur and the surrounding villages. The rich deposits God has invested in every student has to be discovered, enriched and multiplied positively. Hence the importance of being informed and educated in a good school.

My long years of experience of founding and establishing schools and Orphanages like the Good News English School at Thimmaraopet, St. Mary’s English School in Dhammampet, St. Joseph’s Orphanage Enkoor , Good News Shoping Complex in Vanasthalipuram, Hyderabad etc., in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana; St. Andrew’s Matric Higher Secondary School in Thirumanthurai and the ‘Good News Bhavan’ in the Perambalur Dist and the Good News Dhyana Ashram in Nanguneri etc, in Tamil Nadu helped me to venture into establishing the Sacred Heart National School in Vellannur.

As the school is providing high class facilities based on the directives and guidelines of the CBSE, parents of the region need not worry about sending their wards to the city schools especially through the very risky and accident prone roads, rather this institution provides the needed safety, security and high quality of co-education with very fare fee structure.

The School has an able and experienced Principal and well qualified, excellent, and a committed faculty, full of passion to assist, to transform the pupils in acquiring knowledge coupled with exquisite character formation.

Sacred Heart National School moulds children to discipline themselves, to give due respect especially to girls, women and the senior citizens, with an eye specially on the poor and the needy etc., and in secular and democratic values where the future of our country lies.

John F.Kennedy once wrote : “Let us think of education as the means of developing our greatest abilities , because in each of us there is a private hope and dream which, fulfilled, can be translated into benefit for everyone and for the greater strength for our nation”

A student of Sacred Heart National School will fabulously contribute to the Nation building and to work hard and to create a culture where the entire population of Mother India is shining and that India, will one day, be the radiating and leading Light in the world. Our students are assisted to develop in them an “ attitude of gratitude and an “Art of Sharing” which make our lives more beautiful and meaningful.Everybody, the pupils, the faculty, the non teaching staff as well as the parents, drivers who transport kids to and from the School should experience this school as a “ Home of Love and inspiration”.

History of the School

History

Sacred Heart National School was envisioned and is being established by Rev.Fr. JosephOravanathadathil alias Fr. Joy, a member of the Society of the Missionaries of Compassion. SH National School is run by the Angels of Mercy, a Trust affiliated to the Missionaries of Compassion, which runs several institutions in India and abroad. This School follows CBSE stream.

Location

Sacred Heart National School is ensconced at a picturesque location at Joy Nagar, Vellannur,nearChathamangalam in the Kozhikode District of Kerala. Vellanur is a small village about 23 km away from the historic city of Calicut.The educationist in Fr Jose desired to herald changes in the socio-educational scenario of this village,which has a long way to go in achieving higher human and socio economic niveau.Hence the commitment to the cause.

It was a divine intervention which directed Fr.Jose to Chathamangalam on the 9^th of April 2004. He decided to start a School with the name Sacred Heart English School at Chathamangalam .Eventually he took houses for rent and on Tuesday the 1st of June 2004 the School was started for the first time at Chathamangalam with a kindergarten. Mrs. Shiny Thomas was appointed as the Headmistress.

Fr. Jose often reasoned for every individual, God has a definite plan. It is up to the individual to carefully listen to His voice and act. It is this voice coupled with the thirst to build a haven for students who seek enjoyable learning and impassioned mentoring ,an institution which is "High in quality with low fees structure” ,his deep rooted desire to work for the upliftment of the socially and economically marginalized children based on his staunch belief that “Education is Future” SacredHeart English School was born.
